Week 35

Hello Team!

I hope you all had a good weekend and a great Mother's Day!

Class Lists - Resource Room Teachers

Hopefully, you all have been able to meet with your teams to discuss class lists. They are due to the grade level respective Deans by May 22nd, so you will want to reach out to the grade level teams sooner than later.

2020/2021 Curriculum Rollout - Sped Teachers and Intervention/RS

As you read in Principal Boyer's email, NHA is sending out curriculum modules for us to complete.  NHA is mailing out the curricular tools to you. Special Education will have their own Modules to follow.  Reading Specialist will follow the K-2 Modules.  You will receive a link to the PD Modules on Friday, 5/15.   After you complete the modules, we will come together and meet as a wing on 5/22.   Please adjust your schedules and make yourselves available. Our schedule is as follows:

May 15: Topic 1 for both ELA and Math is released
May 18-May 21: Complete topic 1
May 22: Touch Point Meeting at 12:00; Topic 2 Released
May 25-May 28: Complete topic 2
May 29- Touch Point Wing Meeting at 12:00

NHA is shipping a curriculum binder to your home this week.

Lesson Plans and Updating Gradebook

Please let me know if you are not receiving your grade level lesson plans, so that I can assist with that.  Also, be sure to update the gradebook weekly. At the end of the week, you have until the following Monday to update your grades. Please note that your activity is being tracked. So it's important to update this information in a timely manner.

Report Cards

It’s almost that time! Our DSQ sent out a few updates regarding repot cards. Please note that the calculations for the overall final grade will be the average of all marking periods prior to closure. Parents can view student report cards in parent portal the day after school ends. You may already have access, so you can get an early start. According to our DSQ, the plan is to provide teachers with access to report cards as of May 9th.  More details will come as we get closer to the end of the year.

Week 34

Good Morning Team...

Happy "May the 4th Be With You" day....but more importantly...."Happy Teacher Appreciation" Week.

As I sit here typing, I am reminded of how much each and everyone of you means to me.  I am so blessed to be able to work with you and see your dedication, commitment, caring, inspiration, and love for your students and your work.   My appreciation for you is constant, yet this week provides me an opportunity to overtly share how blessed I am to work with you.  I am truly honored to be able to serve as your Dean and to serve you.  I say it a lot...but I truly mean it...I love you guys.

Google Classroom Invites...

Thank you to each of you who have set up and are using your Google Classroom, and who have given me the invitation to join you as a co-teacher.  I really enjoy seeing your assignments and the responses from your students.  If you have not yet done so, please give setting up a Google Classroom a consideration and bring me in with you!

During our team meetings, many of you shared out that you were meeting with your students virtually.  I really would like to join in on that, so when you set them up, please don't forget to invite me.  I am missing the kids too, and would love the opportunity to see them with you.

This Week...

  • I am currently finishing up your End of Year Evaluations.  I will have these released to you electronically by Friday 5/8.  Let's plan to meet next Monday, 5/11 during your scheduled 03 time to review your evaluation. Again, this year is different as your evaluation does not have student test score data included and the score is not released to the State (this is a state mandate).  So, your evaluation will consist of data from the Classroom Framework, observations, 03s, etc. and Professional Accountablilities.
  • Resource Room Teachers...please let me know if you are not receiving your grade level lesson plans by Friday at 5:00.  That way I can follow up on this.
  • Specials Teachers...please make sure your Google Classroom is updated with your upcoming Assignments by the time Emilee sends out the reminder email.
  • We talked about tracking student participation.  At this time, only classroom teachers are able to input participation.  However, it is important that each of you...including Specials and Reading Specialist are tracking any type of student participation and relaying it to the classroom teacher.  This can include participation in Google Classroom Assignments, Instagram Challenges, viewing Reading Videos on You Tube, Virtual Meetings.  ANY type of participation can and needs to be documented.  You should be creating a type of participation log and recording this information.  At this time, it is not being required that you submit it, but you never know...
  • Hopefully, you received the email regarding the RL 2.0 Curriculum Video release.  It was sent out this morning.  Please take the time to review these videos...they are an important part of RL 2.0.
  • GrubHub email...each of you should have received an email from GrubHub in honor of Teacher Appreciation week.  If you did not, please let me know asap.  I hope you enjoy your meal....a small token of how much you are appreciated.
  • Remember...Team Meetings are Fridays.  Watch for your Google Meet invite.

And don't forget...
